Cross River Governor Grants Workers 14 days Christmas Holiday

The Governor of Cross River State in southern Nigeria, Senator Bassey Otu has approved a two weeks holiday for civil and public servants in its employ.

A statement signed by the Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Emmanuel Ogbeche indicated that Governor Otu granted the holiday “in appreciation of the commitment and hard work of civil servants” and to enable them celebrate Christmas with their families and friends.

According to Ogbeche, the holiday is expected to commence from Wednesday, December 20, 2023 to January 2, 2024, noting that those exempted from the ‘extended holidays were persons on essential duties.

It further indicated, “Governor Otu enjoined the civil and public servants to use the opportunity and spend quality time with their families, while also being actively involved in the Carnival Calabar.

“The Governor reiterated the commitment of his administration in providing quality and conducive environment for all citizens and residents of the state, while wishing them a Merry Christmas and a prosperous New Year,” it added.
