The Nigerian Government has called on Nigerians to use the Easter season as a time to strengthen national unity, promote peace, and renew hope for a better future.
Nigeria’s Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, made the call in a statement to felicitate with Christians across the country and in the diaspora as they celebrate Easter.
Describing the season as a period of deep spiritual reflection, the minister said Easter embodies the values of hope, renewal, and sacrifice, which are essential for national development.
“This season reminds us of the power of faith to overcome adversity and the promise of new beginnings,” Idris said.
He urged citizens to draw inspiration from the significance of Easter by fostering unity and strengthening the bonds that hold the nation together.
“May this season strengthen the bonds of unity that hold us together as one nation and inspire us to continue building a Nigeria where peace, tolerance, and goodwill prevail,” he added.
The minister also extended warm Easter greetings to Christians celebrating both within Nigeria and abroad, wishing them a joyous and peaceful celebration.
“Happy Easter to all celebrating, at home and abroad,” he said.
The Federal Government reiterated its commitment to promoting national cohesion and encouraging citizens to embrace values that support peaceful coexistence.
