The Governorship Candidate of the All Progressives Grand Alliance, APGA, in Ebonyi State South East Nigeria, Professor Bernard Odoh, has denied stepping down for any other candidate.
Odoh clarified this in a statement signed by his Director, Media and Publicity, Mr Charles Otu on Saturday.
He was reacting to a report circulated by the agents of the People’s Democratic Party, PDP on Saturday with the caption reads: “BREAKING NEWS!!! Prof. Bernard Ifeanyi Odoh just stepped aside from the Guber race for ANYI CHUKS. Join the winning team. Vote PDP to make Ebonyi Great.”
Odoh who is a leading candidate maintained that he was strongly in the race and would never step down for anybody.
“We wish to dismiss these publications and messages as false and intended to mislead some uniformed voters in Ebonyi State,” the statement added.
Voice of Nigeria reports that the Ebonyi Residents are voting to elect a new Governor and members of the State House of Assembly.
