Ebonyi State Chambers of Commerce moves to boost  economy

Ebonyi Chambers of Commerce, Industry, Mining and Agriculture, EBCCIMA is partnering with  the  Ebonyi State Government to help create a condusive environment that will promote ease of doing business.
The President, Ebonyi Chambers of Commerce Industry Mining and Agriculture,  Mr Eze Emmanuel made this Known in Abakaliki the State Capital.
Eze said the State Government should do everything within it power to make all business actors comfortable.
Economy Driven by Commerce
The President stated that globalisation of economy must be driven by commerce.
“It’s the duty of Government to create enabling environment for business to strive and not mainly to make money, rather people should make money and pay their necessary taxes to Government in return,” he explained.
He called on Ebonyi State Government to look into the activities of some security Agencies like that of FRSC and others on the road, as they contribute to hampering ease of doing business.
The State Commissioner for Commerce and Industry, Dr Steven Odoh  said Ebonyi State has been doing well in terms of making business to thrive.
Bringing More Investors
Dr Odoh promised that his Ministry would do more to bring more investors to the State.
The Commissioner therefore set up a Committee that will organise a business retreat where every business men and women would come and air their views on how to move the economy of the State forward.
The Committee is to be headed by the Permanent Secretary of Ebonyi State Ministry of Commerce and Industry, Mrs Ukwuta Ogonna Christiana as the Chairman.
Also during the meeting, the Commissioner, State Ministry of Capital City Development, Barrister Onyekachi Nwebonyi said his Ministry was doing everything possible to create enabling environment for the growth of the State economy.
He called on the people of Ebonyi to coorporate with the Ministry to achieve the master plan of the State which would further help to boost the economy.
