The former President of the Senate of Nigeria, Anyim Pius Anyim, as well as his supporters from the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), has thrown his weight behind the All Progressives Congress (APC), calling for power rotation and zoning in Ebonyi state, South-east Nigeria.
The former President of the Senate made this known at his country home, Ishiagu, in Ivo local government area of the state.
Anyim said he believed in equity and power rotation to all the three senatorial zones of the state.
“I believe in power rotation and power-sharing, I believe in zoning too.
“Governorship position should be shifted to Ebonyi North and the candidate will come from the All Progressives Congress (APC), “ Anyim said.
He called on Ebonyi people to come out en masse to support the APC in the Saturday’s Governorship and State House of Assembly Election.
It would be recalled that the Governor of Ebonyi state Engr. David Umahi who is also the senator-elect of Ebonyi South zone and Senator Anyim Pius Anyim have had their differences because of Umahi’s defection to the APC in November, 2020.
Anyim Pius Anyim, who was the former Secretary to the Government of the Federation, also contested presidential primaries, which he lost to Atiku Abubakar.
The governor of the state, Umahi, thanked Anyim for supporting the good idea of power rotation, which has made for effective peace in the state.
