ECOWAS Commission condemns terrorist attack in Mali

The Economic Community of West African States, ECOWAS, Commission has condemned the terrorist attack carried out with vehicle-borne explosive devices in Kati military base near Bamako, the capital of Mali.

The attack carried out in the early hours of Thursday, July 22 had several casualties.

In a press statement, the Commission commended the bravery and vigilance of the Malian soldiers in halting the heinous attack and swiftly bringing the situation under control.

It also expressed ‘‘deep sympathy to the families of victims of the terror attack and commiserated with the people and Government of Mali.”

According to the statement, “the Commission reiterated its determination to accompany the people of the Republic Mali towards a successful transition and stability in the country.”
