Eid-El-Kabir: Northern governors call for tolerance

The Governor of  Niger State in North Central Nigeria, Abubakar Sani Bello, has called on the need to tolerate one another and assist the less privileged in the society by adherents of all religion in the State.

The Governor who stated this during the Eid-el-Kabir message through Mary Berje his spokesperson, said assisting the less privilege in the society is one of the surest ways of reducing poverty and the attendant insecurity that comes with it.

“Humanity is fast losing its essence because of the obvious disregard to the teachings and practice of our religions,” added Gov Sani Bello

The Governor admonished Muslims to continue to promote peace, tolerance and harmonious coexistence in the society adding that it is only genuine love and an enduring social equilibrium that can frustrate the spread of violent ideologies in the society.

Meanwhile, the Adamawa State Governor in North-East Nigeria, Ahmadu Fintiri has felicitated with the Muslim  in the State, calling on them to join their counterparts across the globe to celebrate this years Eid-el-Kabir.

Governor Fintiri also urged the Muslims to rededicate themselves to making the State a model of peace and harmonious living for residents to enjoy the blessings of Allah in the communities.

He said the period offered opportunity for people to submit completely to the will of the Almighty Allah, renew interaction with fellow human beings and most essentially their duties to Allah.

“As Muslims savour the joy of the occasion across the globe, I urge you to demonstrate the spirit of tolerance, unity, love, forgiveness, compassion and peace that Islam epitomises, the Governor said.

While wishing all Muslims in the State and across the world, a very exciting celebration during this occasion of piety and sacrifice, Governor Fintiri further noted that “Allah implore leaders and followers in our different stations in life to continue to hold on to the tenets of hope, sacrifice and restoration as epitomised in the central message of Eid-el-Kabir.”
