The New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Gombe state has revealed its manifesto, which includes plans for economic growth and development in the state, while calling on the residents of the state to support the party during the 2023 elections.

The Gombe state gubernatorial candidate of the NNPP, Mr. Khamisu Mailantarki, during the inauguration of the party’s Gubernatorial Campaign Council in Billiri said that his team had drafted various programmes that would make life meaningful for every class of people in the state.

Campaign Promises

“If elected, my government would provide the right economic policies that would improve the wellbeing of all citizens, especially women and youths, which would automatically tackle the issues of poverty, hunger and unemployment.

“I appeal to the people of Gombe state and all NNPP supporters to collect their Permanent Voters Cards and elect NNPP candidates across board.

“We are with the ordinary people and I assure you all, we will not disappoint, if you vote us into office in 2023

“When elected, I would restore the student scholarship programmes that were in place before, but abandoned as well as pay salaries for medical students and provide automatic jobs for them.

“I also promise to pay fees for the various examinations for secondary school students, such as the Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB), the West African Examination Council (WAEC) and the National Examination Council (NECO) to ensure that every child has access to education like rich people’s children.

“If elected, my administration would work to ensure that challenges of education are tackled so that parents would be spared the burden of paying fees for the various examinations into tertiary institutions.

“This is because my government will pay all these fees so that the poor and vulnerable can get the opportunity of quality education.

“Under my leadership, education will be the right of all Gombe children, irrespective of tribe, religion and ethnicity, because they are the leaders of tomorrow and the hope of Gombe.

“I also promise to ensure that farmers have access to farm inputs, especially the provision of fertilizers at a subsidized rate.

“The provision of farm inputs is dear to me so as to ensure maximum production of food by farmers in the state,” Mr. Mailantarki pledged.

He, however, urged his supporters to carry out political activities peacefully and shun all forms of violence.

In the meantime, the Gombe state NNPP party chairman, Mr. Maikano Abdullahi, thanked Mailantarki for providing two hundred and twenty-eight million naira (N228,000,000) for the house-to-house campaign.

Mr. Abdullahi said he was confident of the NNPP’s ’s victory in the forthcoming election, because of the number and quality of people, especially officials of other parties defecting to the NNPP from the ruling All Progressives Congress and the People’s Democratic Party.

Highlight of the campaign in Billiri was the distribution of flags to the candidates of the party in the Gombe South senatorial district.
