Ensure Sustainable Peace for Development in Nasarawa state-Police Commissioner

The Nasarawa State security Agencies have called for sustainable peace from the leaders of both All Progressives Congress (APC) and Peoples Democratic Party (PDP )in the state ahead of the governorship supreme court Judgement.

The commissioner of Police in the state, CP, Umar Shehu Nadada stated this during the signing of the peace accord in Lafia, the state capital.

CP Nadada vowed to deal decisively with anyone who is trying to course chaos before, during, and after the governorship supreme court Judgement in the state.

“It is also expected that the party leaders would bring this peace agreement to all their loyalists and supporters across the state.

“The joint security committee has also resolved to work together towards ensuring a sustainable peace in the state. Whoever goes against this resolve, no matter how highly placed in the society will regret his or her action.”

The CP called on all those planning evil against the state to rethink.

“Information at the disposal of the command reveals that some faceless individuals are planning to stage violent protests in the state if the Supreme Court verdict does not favor them.”

CP Nadada assured both the All Progressive Congress (APC) and the Democratic Party (PDP) that the joint security forces will continue to be neutral.

Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Aliyu Belli and Secretary of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Mr. Adamu Bako gave assurances that they would ensure peace before during and after the Supreme Court Judgment.

The peace accord was done in the presence of other security agencies in Nasarawa.

The APC was represented by the party’s state chairman, Aliyu Bello, APC state secretary Yarus Dakusa, while the PDP by the state organising secretary Yahaya Bunu, PDP state secretary Adamu Bako, woman leader Hon. Stella Oboshi and PDP zonal chairman Isa Sule.

The Supreme Court had fixed 16 of January 2023 for hearing on the appeal filed by the PDP Governorship Candidate in Nasarawa at the 2023 elections, Dr. David Ombugadu against Governor Abdullahi Sule of the APC.
