The Kwara State Environmental Protection Agency (KWEPA) has sealed off a residential building in the Agbo-Oba area of Ilorin for the illegal disposal of evacuated human excreta mixed with sand along a public roadside, an act deemed hazardous to public health and environmental safety.

The enforcement operation was carried out by the Agency’s Environmental Task Force, under the leadership of Alhaji Yinusa Jidah, in line with KWEPA’s mandate to ensure a clean, safe, and healthy environment across the state.

Speaking on the operation, the General Manager of KWEPA, Jide Aina, clarified that the action was not intended to intimidate any individual or group, but rather to correct serious environmental violations and avert potential health risks.

“Our responsibility is to protect the environment and prevent the outbreak of diseases that may arise from such irresponsible practices.

We urge all residents to adhere strictly to proper waste disposal procedures and ensure their surroundings are kept clean at all times.” He added.
