The Committee of Youth on Mobilisation and Sensitisation (CYMS) has congratulated Hon. Haruna Shekwolo Audi on his emergence as the All Progressives Congress (APC) candidate for Bwari Area Council in the recently concluded Federal Capital Territory (FCT) primary elections.
In a press statement signed by its Director General, Mr. Obinna Nwaka, CYMS described Shekwolo’s victory as a result of party loyalty, community engagement, and support for the Renewed Hope agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.
“Hon. Shekwolo’s emergence as the party’s candidate for the 2026 FCT Area Council elections reflects his dedication, hard work, and the trust his constituents have placed in him,” the statement read.
“We are confident that he will uphold the values of integrity, inclusivity, and development, with a strong focus on youth and women empowerment in Bwari and beyond,” it stated.

CYMS also commended the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) for its role in overseeing the primary election, describing the process as transparent and reflective of the will of the people.
The group acknowledged the APC leadership at both the national and Bwari levels for demonstrating unity during the primaries.
“The party has shown its commitment to internal democracy by standing firm on principles of equity and justice.
“Hon. Shekwolo’s consistency and sacrifices for the party over the years have been justly rewarded,” Mr Nweke said.
Hon. Shekwolo is known for his community work and youth-focused initiatives. His candidacy is expected to address governance, infrastructure, and policy issues affecting young people in Bwari Area Council.
Looking ahead to the general elections in February 2026, CYMS expressed optimism about Shekwolo’s chances, noting that his leadership could motivate more young Nigerians to participate in politics and public service.

The FCT APC primaries have been viewed as a test of the party’s commitment to democracy, with observers noting the peaceful conduct and quality of its candidates across the six area councils.
Mr. Nwaka called on APC stakeholders, including those dissatisfied with the outcome, to support the party’s candidate.
“We urge all members to embrace peace, uphold internal democracy, and avoid actions that could undermine the party. Hon. Shekwolo’s victory is not just personal, it is a victory for the youth and for the future of Bwari,” he added.
