Nigeria’s First Lady, Senator Oluremi Tinubu, has congratulated the Super Falcons following their historic 10th Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON) title, praising the team for their dedication, resilience, and inspirational performance on the continental stage.

In a statement released on Friday, the First Lady described the team’s 3-2 comeback victory over host nation Morocco as “remarkable and commendable”, noting that the achievement goes beyond winning a trophy; it symbolises the strength and spirit of the Nigerian woman.

The first lady expressed gratitude to God for what she termed a “sweet victory”, stating that the Super Falcons had once again lifted the pride of the nation and earned their place as the queens of African football.

“On behalf of Nigerian women and the entire nation, I thank you for making us proud. You have written your names in gold and inspired millions across the continent,” she added.

The First Lady’s tribute adds to a wave of national and international acclaim that has followed the team’s historic win, which reaffirmed Nigeria’s dominance in African women’s football.
