FUT Minna to Graduate 119 First Class Students

A total of 5,816 students from the Federal University of Technology (FUT) Minna, will graduate at the forthcoming 33rd convocation ceremony, with 119 earning First Class honors.

The Vice-Chancellor, Professor Faruk Adamu Kuta disclosed this during a pre-convocation press briefing held in Minna, the capital of Niger State, North Central Nigeria.

“It is my pleasure to announce that we are graduating a total of 5,816 students for the 2023/2024 academic session, comprising 4,955 undergraduates, 632 Master’s graduates, 105 Postgraduate Diploma recipients, and 124 PhD holders,” Professor Kuta stated.

Professor Kuta also emphasized that, in line with the University’s tradition, graduates would receive their original certificates immediately after the convocation ceremony.

The Vice-Chancellor added that the institution has introduced 13 new academic programs aimed at addressing contemporary societal and global needs.
These programs include Data Science, Software Engineering, Public Health, Forestry and Wildlife Technology, Forensic Science, Industrial Mathematics, Meteorology, Interior Design, Furniture Design, Landscape Architecture, Food Engineering, Human Nutrition and Dietetics, and Agribusiness.

Professor Kuta noted that the University had promoted 74 staff members to professorial positions during the academic year, attributing this milestone to the dedication and collaboration of both staff and students.
