Governor Yahaya observed that the Covid-19 protocols were not adhered to during voting, thereby calling the people to abide by them, in order to control the resurgence of the cases in the state.

Also, casting his vote at his Polling Unit, the Deputy Governor, Manassah Daniel Jatau, pleaded for calm and peace throughout the election, saying “there is no need to breach the peace, especially considering that we are all brothers and sisters and Gombe is the ultimate winner at the end of the day”.
Responding to questions from journalists, Dr. Jatau commended the officials of the Gombe State Independent Electoral Commission for being prompt in the distribution of the election materials.
He said the local government election was in line with the tenets of democracy which allows for representative governance at the grassroots.
Similarly, the Speaker of the Gombe State House of Assembly, Abubakar Mohammed, while casting his vote in his Ward, Luggerewo, in Akko Local Government Area, amidst a large crowd that turned out at the unit, said the process had been peaceful and encouraging.
