Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has revalidated his membership of the All Progressives Congress at the party secretariat in Gombe.
Speaking shortly after the revalidation, which signified the official commencement of the process, Governor Yahaya said he took the steps in obedience to the example set by President Muhammadu Buhari, who had already revalidated his membership of the party in Daura, Katsina State some days ago.
Governor Yahaya therefore called on members and those desirous of joining the pary to follow these examples by getting revalidated or registered.
The Governor gave members of the Registration and Revalidation Committee the assurances of a safe and secure environment to function.
Revalidation exercise kicks-off
The Chairman of the Committee, Dr. Danjuma Dabo, said with the revalidation of Governor Yahaya, the process had now begun in the state.
Dr. Dabo said the take-off of the process was taking place within the governor’s ward, because a lot of people wanted to support the governor during the revalidation, and that was not outside the guidelines given to the committee.
He insisted that the whole process was free of charge and that no one should be discriminated when revalidating or registering into the party.
Dr. Dabo, however, said the process would commence on Wednesday, February 10 2021, because it was already too late into the day for any registration to be conducted.
“At 3 oclock this afternoon, all local government area chairmen, all APC caretaker acting chairmen and local government committee members present here will meet us at the Banquet Hall by 3 o’clock for final briefing and take-off to their different locations,” Dr. Dabo said.
In the meantime, the Chairman of the Gombe State APC, Mr. Nite Amangall, said the process of the registration and revalidation had now commenced in the state, thereby calling on all members and those desiring to join the party to come out and get registered into the party so as to ensure the success of the process.
