The All Progressives Congress in Gombe State has elected its six candidates for the House of Representatives in its primary elections on Friday.
These are the candidates who will join their fellow counterparts in the People’s Democratic Party and other parties to contest for the House of Representatives in the 2023 elections across Nigeria.
The APC aspirants who emerged winners are:
1. Akko Federal Constituency, Mr. Usman Bello Kumo,
2. Balanga-Billiri Federal Constituency, Mr. Victor Mela Danzaria,
3. Dukku-Nafada Federal Constituency, Mrs. Aishatu Jibrin Dukku,
4. Gombe-Kwami-Funa Kaye, Mr. Abubakar Yerima Gadam
5. Kaltungo-Shongom, Mr. Elisha Simon Karu,
6. Yamaltu-Deba Federal Constituency, Mr. Shu’aibu Umar Galadima.
Four out of the six candidates seek re-election to their previous positions, except Abubakar Yerima Galadima, who is replacing Abubakar Yunusa Ahmed, the present member in the House of Representatives Yamaltu-Deba Federal Constituency.
Also, Abubakar Yerima is seeking to replace Yaya Bauchi Tongo, who was elected in 2019 to represent the Gombe-Kwami-Funa Kaye Federal Constituency in the House of Representatives.
Mr. Yaya Bauchi Tongo is equally seeking re-election to retain his post in the House of Representatives, but under the opposition People’s Democratic Party, PDP.
He was on Sunday elected by PDP delegates to seek reelection.
