Governor urges Gombe State residents to support 2023 Census

Governor Muhammadu Inuwa of Gombe State has urged residents to support the 2023 National Population and Housing Census.

 

Speaking in his Sallah message in Gombe, the Governor said the gains of the upcoming census were numerous for the state and country.

 

The Governor, who was represented by the Deputy Governor, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, said the headcount would provide good data to help develop the country and improve the well-being of citizens.

 

According to him, the committee set up to create awareness ahead of the exercise is already engaging relevant stakeholders and taking the campaigns to various communities in the state.

 

He also noted that the success of the census was a collective responsibility of everyone, and urged the people to play their roles before and during the exercise, while advising all residents of the state to ensure that they get counted so that enjoy the maximum benefit of the census.

 

“I call on all stakeholders, traditional and community leaders to educate their subjects on the importance of the census and the need for them to come out and be counted,” he said.
