Independence Day: Kaduna PDP chieftain preaches love, peace

A People’s Democratic Party (PDP) chieftain in Kaduna State, Alhaji Mohammed Danjuma, on Friday called on Nigerians to forget their differences in religion, tribe and ethnicity, come together and plan for the well-being of the country.

Danjuma, who served as Kagarko Local Government chairman in 2015, and member, Kaduna State House of Assembly in 2018 under the PDP, noted that only when people agree to come together as one body, would there be progress, love and unity.

In a statement he signed on Friday on the occasion of Nigeria’s 61st Independence Day anniversary, Alhaji Danjuma congratulated Nigerians for passing through the storms, alive and attaining the Golden age of 61.

“I must congratulate Nigerians for painstaking since independence. Since Nigeria got their independence in 1960, a lot has happened. Yet, it has not swept us away. Since we are alive to witness another year, there is greater hope for us,” he said.

According to him, Nigerians must surely overcome all her challenges, adding that the bandits’ attack and all manner of killings witnessed in some parts of the country were because of some scrupulous elements who do not agree with themselves.

“But if we all come together as one indivisible nation, no one will carry arms against another. We need to come together to promote love, peace,” he further said.

He said 61 years is enough for Nigerians to learn their lessons for them to come together as a united nation.
