Indonesia has expressed its readiness to continue collaboration with Nigeria in the areas of education, agriculture, economy and cultural exchange for the benefit of the two countries.
The Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria, Mr. Usra Harahap stated this during the handover ceremony of humanitarian assistance to some people of Lugbe and other communities in Abuja.
Ambassador Harahap maintained that cultural exchange by nations promote the unity of purpose.
The Ceremony was organised by the Indonesian Embassy in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
The Charity giving is one of the embassy’s traditions aimed to assist the communities and share happiness especially during Sallah celebration.
Some of the charities include giving scholarship to Nigerians, educational materials, building classes, food items, and animals.
The Indonesian Ambassador to Nigeria said, the embassy embarked on these activities to support communities and encourage others to emulate.
“We give charity to people to share happiness and joy especially during Sallah celebrations.
Nigeria is a big country in the world likewise Indonesia, so we are collaborating in the areas of education, agriculture, economy and cultural exchange to strengthen the relationship for the benefits of two countries,” the Ambassador explained.
One of the beneficiaries of the gesture, head teacher Normadic Primary School Aso Estate Abuja, Mr Kenneth Adungi, expressed his delight about the donations giving to his community and pray that the gesture will continue.
Nigeria and Indonesia have been enjoying diplomatic relations since 1960’s.
