Citizens in Nasarawa state have been urged to invest in health care service that leaves no one behind.

The call was made by the Nasarawa state Head of Service, Mr. Abari Aboki after a road walk to mark the Universal Health Coverage day celebration in Lafia the state capital.

He expressed his appreciation to Governor Abdullahi Sule for bringing this initiative to the citizens of the state.
He further calls on them to make use of such opportunities for the good and growth of the state in terms of health care.

Speaking, the Executive Secretary Nasarawa State Health Insurance Agency, Dr. Gaza Gwamna emphasis the need for citizens in the state to make a smarter investment in health, and remind the world about the need for Universal Health Coverage.

According to Dr. Gwamna, “Healthcare is something that one needs, it could be promotive, preventive, curative, and rehabilitative.

If you have access to healthcare without good quality, then you are still not talking about universal health coverage.

” One should have access, services, and the services must have sufficient quality”, he noted

In his remarks, the House Committee Chairman on Health Nasarawa State House of Assembly, Mr. Labaran Shafa said that the law establishing NASHIA is from the House of Assembly.

I’m optimistic with the Secretary of NASHIA because he is conversant with his duties”, he said

The theme of Universal Health Day 2021 is “Leave No One’s Health Behind: Invest in Health Systems for All”.
