Javelin: Kure sets new PB at 2024 AFN trials
National Javelin champion, Samuel Kure threw a new Personal Best (PB) to win men’s javelin event at the 2024 MTNChamps/AFN National Trials in Delta state.
Kure threw 77.45m to place first position, Lawrence Onyejiaka threw a PB of 66.94m to finish second while Kenechukwu Ezefor finished third position with a season best of 62.33m.
Kure disclosed that his throw gave him hope of doing better in the 2024 season.
The Customs officer said, “I feel super excited and glad setting a new Personal Best at the Athletics Federation of Nigeria (AFN) National Trials and it also inspires me to push harder for more. I resumed training the first week of January because I know I have to improve my standard. In the last five years, I have been struggling to surpass my own record; this was one of the motivating factors.
