Jigawa agency destroys expired drugs worth N3.2m

The Jigawa Environmental Protection Agency (JISEPA) has destroyed expired goods and drugs worth N3.2 million in Hadejia Local Government Area of the state.

The acting Manager Director of the agency, Mr Adamu Sabo, stated this in an interview with the Newsmen, in Dutse on Monday.

Sabo, who is also the Director Environmental Health in the agency, said operatives of the agency recently seized the items from malls, pharmaceutical stores and markets in the area.

He listed the items to include milk, soft drinks, biscuits, cooking oil, drugs and cosmetics.

Sabo advised consumers to always check the expiry date of products before using it to safeguard their health.

He reiterated commitment of the agency to keep the state safe from adulterated foods, drugs and medical consumables.
