Jigawa State Government raises monthly allowance for PWDs

The Jigawa State Government has raised monthly allowance for Persons Living Wiith Disabilities (PWDs), in the state from N7,000 to N10,000.

Alhaji Sagir Musa, the Commissioner for Information, Youths, Sports and Culture, made this known on Friday in Dutse, that the state government had also approved an increase in the number of beneficiaries in each of the 27 local government areas from 150 to 200.

He explained that the approval was given at the State Executive Council (SEC), meeting on Thursday.

He added that the council also approved the establishment of database of orphans, orphanages, vulnerable and aged population, following a memo presented by the Ministry of Women Affairs, as well as physical verification/validation of PWDs.

He said, “Following deliberations on the memo, the council unanimously approved upward review of the monthly allowance for each person living with disability from N7,000 to N10,000.

“The council also approved increase in the number of beneficiaries in each of the 27 local government areas from 150 to 200.”
