Kaduna Assembly screens 12 Commissioner Nominees

The Kaduna State House of Assembly has screened twelve out of the 14 Commissioner Nominees Sent to the house by Governor Uba Sani.

The Speaker of the House of Assembly, Yusuf Liman Dahiru while presiding over plenary announced that the nominees to be screened were 14 in number.

The screening began after setting aside order 7 rule 10 and resolving the house into a committee of a whole by the majority leader of the house, Ahmad Muhammad, a member representing the Zaria Kewaye constituency.

The screening began with the former speaker of the house, Aminu Abdullahi Shagali who was the 8th speaker of the Assembly.

Others include Umma Kaltume Ahmed, Mukhtar Ahmed, Arch. Dr.Ibrahim Hamza, Sule Shua’ibu, Shizzer Nasara Joy Bada, Professor Muhammad Sani Bello, Salisu Rabi, Professor Benjamin Kumari Gugong, Abubakar Buba, Sadiq Mamman Lagos, and Murtala Muhammad Dabo.

However, two of the nominees namely Patience Fakai and Auwal Musa Shugaba were not screened because of their inability to avail themselves to the assembly.

Speaking with the newsmen shortly after the screening exercise, the Chairman House Committee on Information, Marah Henry Zachariah said that, “the good records of the nominees prompted their selection, hence they should be able to discharge their duties accordingly”.
