Kaduna State Governor, Uba Sani has commemorated Democracy day, calling on citizens to renew their commitment to upholding democratic values.
In his Democracy day message, Governor Sani reflected on the significance of June 12, marking the 32nd anniversary of the annulled presidential election that sparked the country’s struggle for democracy.
The Governor highlighted the progress made since the return to democratic rule in 1999, while acknowledging the challenges that still lie ahead, emphasizing the importance of unity, resilience, and determination in overcoming these challenges.
He also underscored the State government’s commitment to strengthening democracy, citing its inclusive and consultative administration, transparency, and accountability.
He noted that government prioritizes the welfare of citizens, particularly the poor, vulnerable, and underserved.
The Governor while urging citizens to remain vigilant and engage in the democratic process, also emphasized that democracy is a journey that demands collective participation.
He concluded by calling on Nigerians to work together towards a brighter and more equitable future.
“May the sacrifices of our heroes continue to inspire us to protect our freedoms and deepen our democracy,” Governor Sani prayed.
