The Katsina State Executive Council has approved the commencement of the necessary procedures for the domestication of the National Policy on Women’s Economic Empowerment in the state.
The approval was granted during the 4th Regular Meeting of the State Executive Council for 2026, held at the Government House, Katsina, and presided over by Governor Dikko Umaru Radda.
Briefing journalists after the meeting, the Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajiya Aisha Aminu Malumfashi, said the policy is aimed at promoting women’s participation in economic activities across multiple sectors.

She explained that the domestication of the policy would help ensure that women are not left behind in Nigeria’s economic growth by supporting their roles as employees, entrepreneurs, and leaders.
According to her, the initiative is also designed to reduce gender-based disparities and strengthen women’s economic advancement across Katsina State.
Hajiya Aisha added that the domestication process will align the national framework with local realities in order to promote inclusive growth and expand opportunities for women in the state.
