The national leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso, has denied reports alleging that he endorsed or supported a purported plan by Kano State Governor, Abba Kabir Yusuf, to defect to the All Progressives Congress (APC).
A statement issued by his media aide, Saifullahi Hassan, described the report published by an online platform as false, misleading and without any factual basis.
Hassan said Senator Kwankwaso remains firmly committed to the ideals, vision and principles of the NNPP, stressing that Governor Yusuf was elected on the party’s platform and remains a member with a responsibility to uphold the mandate freely given to him by the people of Kano State.
The statement further clarified that Senator Kwankwaso neither endorsed nor expressed support for any alleged move by the governor to defect to the APC, adding that claims suggesting otherwise amounted to a deliberate misrepresentation of facts.
It urged members of the public, party supporters and the media to disregard the report and rely only on verified and credible sources for accurate information.
