Kwara First Lady Hosts Global Affairs Canada, Action Aid, UN Women Delegation

The First Lady of Kwara State and Founder Ajike People Support Center, Ambassador Olufolake Abdulrazaq has hosted a delegation of development partners and civil society organizations in her office.

The delegation during the visit briefed the First Lady on the different programmes and projects their respective organizations are working on in the State.

While receiving the delegation in her office, the First Lady commended the team for their respective projects in the state and assured them of government’s continued support.

Ambassador Abdulrazaq further added that the State government has made inroads in the areas of women empowerment and inclusion adding that the laws promulgated in the state are a testament to this fact.

The First Lady who is also the Chairperson of Kwara State Sexual and Gender Based Violence Committee further highlighted the contributions of her office and the Ajike People Support Center in bringing support and needed services to women and youth in the state.

Earlier, the leader of the delegation, Ms Carmen Sparrow of Global Affairs, Canada commended the State Government under the leadership of Governor Abdulrahman Abdulrazaq for leading the cause on women and youth development and inclusion.

Also in their separate remarks, the Head of Programmes Action Aid Nigeria, Ms Nkech Ilochi-Kanny and a representative of UN Women commended the State Government and the First Lady while highlighting their scope of work in the state.
