The Kwara State Governor in North Central Nigeria, AbdulRahman AbdulRazaq, has called on residents of the state to remain vigilant and patriotic as the government intensifies efforts to safeguard lives and property during and after the Christmas festivities.
In his Christmas message to Christians in the state, the governor said the prevailing security challenges in the country require collective responsibility, urging citizens to support security agencies who are working round the clock to maintain public safety across the state.
AbdulRazaq noted that peace and stability in the state have been sustained through cooperation among residents, stressing that vigilance and patriotism are critical to preserving the harmony the state is known for.
“I request that we remain vigilant, patriotic, and supportive of the government’s efforts as security forces work round the clock to sustain public safety in every part of the state,” the governor said.
He also called for continued harmony, brotherhood and shared commitment to a safer and more prosperous Kwara State and Nigeria, describing peaceful coexistence as a collective duty that must not be taken for granted.
The governor commended the Christian community for what he described as their consistent support, understanding and solidarity, which he said have contributed to the state’s atmosphere of religious tolerance.
AbdulRazaq prayed that the Christmas season would bring joy, peace and divine guidance to families across the state, while wishing residents a merry Christmas and a more fulfilling New Year.
