The Kwara State Chapter of the Zenith Labour Party (ZLP) has ruled out any chance of merging or forming alliance with any political party in the state, stating that the party will fully participate in the forthcoming Saturday’s gubernatorial election in the state.
According to the spokesperson of the party, Comrade Popoola Wasiu, the ZLP made a positive impression in the last presidential election, and it was an indication that the party is ever ready to challenge future elections.
Comrade Popoola Wasiu reiterated the determination of the gubernatorial candidate of the party, Alhaji Usman Danjuma, to improve the welfare of the civil servants, upgrade social amenities across the state, empower youth and women and ensure effective health care delivery.
According to the statement, the ZLP will focus on agricultural programme across the three senatorial districts, improve educational  policy, women inclusiveness, and youth employment/empowerment will be its cardinal policy, if given the mandate.
He appealed to party followers and supporters to adhere strictly to the electoral laws while exercising their franchise and come out en masse on Saturday and vote for the ZLP’s candidate, Usman Danjuma, as the next governor of Kwara state.
