The Labour Party in Nigeria has launched an online registration portal for members ahead of the 2023 general elections.
The presidential candidate of the Labour Party Mr. Peter Obi launched the portal during the party’s leadership retreat with the theme Nigeria at a Crossroad: Labour Party the only option.
Mr Obi stated that the 2023 General Election should be based on competence and not on religious and ethnic sentiments.
The retreat which held in Abuja, Nigeria’s Capital, was an avenue for the party to hold a think tank meeting with the Nigerian Labour Union and Trade Union Congress, towards mobilizing voters for the party ahead of the 2023 elections.
The National Chairman of the party, Mr. Julius Abure said the party has a unique opportunity ahead of other political parties in the country.
Mr. Abure added that the party is fielding competent candidates for the elections.
The President of the Nigerian Union of Labour Congress NLC in Nigeria, Mr. Ayuba Wabba who was at the retreat said the union is delighted to be part of the consultations and would be part of the mobilization of Nigerians to vote in the party in 2023.
Other stakeholders described the party as a political party that has credible and competent candidates that can make Nigeria greater.
