The Labour party Candidate for Awka South and North Federal Constituency of Anambra State, Prof Lilian Orogbu, says the party will sustain its popularity across the nation to wade off opposition parties during next year’s polls.

She reasoned that presently no political party can stop the party in virtually all elective positions given the pedigree and quality of candidates being fielded.

Prof Orogbu, the immediate past Dean of Management Sciences, Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Awka, stated this during a Labour Party rally held at Nibo, near Awka, the State Capital.

While acknowledging that its Presidential Candidate, Mr Peter Obi was enjoying the support of the masses to effect positive changes if elected into office, she urged the electorate to further ensure that the party clinched the majority of National Assembly Seats.

“I urge you to vote for competence, capacity and capability as personified by Peter Obi and also work for the success of our party in other elective positions, especially National Assembly to give us majority seats to enable us to consolidate power at the centre”

Prof Orogbu, then, pledged to offer empowerment of women and Youths as a cardinal means of effective representation to fight all forms of negative indulgences.

According to her, the time has come to give women the opportunity to reposition the nation’s polity and bring their managerial ability to bear in the scheme of things.
