Manchester United manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer has praised Odion Ighalo for remaining a true pro even when he was not getting enough playing time at the Premier League club.

“He’s been training really well, he was the top scorer in round robin we just finished. He’s not lost any of his quality, it’s been difficult for him to be out of the squad as many times as he has because he did really well up until the summer,” Solskjaer saluted.

“This season he’s not had as many opportunities and not let himself down as a professional and a human being.”

The remarks of the boss come ahead of today’s FA Cup clash against Ighalo’s former club Watford and the striker is in contention to feature.

Ighalo’s loan spell at ‘The Red Devils’ will be up at the end of this month and he is expected back at Chinese Super League club Shanghai Shenhua.

There is also interest from Qatar and Saudi Arabia for the striker.
