The Voice of Nigeria (VON) Forum 2026 has commenced in Abuja, bringing together key stakeholders to examine Nigeria’s 51-year role in strengthening democratic stability within the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).

The second edition of the forum, holding at the Shehu Musa Yar’Adua Centre, Abuja, is themed “51 Years of Nigeria’s Role in Deepening Democratic Stability in ECOWAS,” with a rallying call for “One Voice, One Vision” toward a more united and resilient West Africa.

Early arrivals of dignitaries and participants set the tone for high-level engagements, as leaders, policymakers, and citizens converge to deliberate on strengthening democratic institutions and regional cooperation.

The forum underscores the critical role of the media in promoting accountability, transparency, and citizen participation in governance.

It is an annual platform designed to foster dialogue on national and international issues, with a focus on Nigeria’s foreign policy and global engagement.

With the theme “51 Years of Nigeria’s Role in Deepening Democratic Stability in ECOWAS,” discussions will focus on Nigeria’s peacekeeping efforts, mediation in political crises, and support for constitutional order across the sub-region.

The gathering also reflects a shared commitment to advancing democracy, fostering unity, and shaping a stronger future for the West African sub-region.
