Manchester United drew 0-0 with Chelsea at Stamford Bridge after a game that started with plenty of promise petered out in the second half.
United had a shout for a penalty controversially turned down after the ball struck Callum Hudson-Odoi’s arm in the box, with referee Stuart Attwell not giving the spot-kick after a VAR check. And that was about as interesting as it got.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer managed to stifle Chelsea for much of the game and there were chances for Mason Greenwood and Fred after the break, though David de Gea also had to be at his best with a couple of good reaction saves at the other end.
The draw puts United clear in second, a point ahead of Leicester — who were beaten by Arsenal earlier in the day — but leaves them 12 points off champions-elect Manchester City.
