Stakeholders in the broadcast media industry and civil society organizations in Nigeria have presented a Memorandum on Broadcasting Regulatory Framework in Nigeria to the Director General National Broadcasting Commission, (NBC), Charles Egbuegbu at the Stakeholders Summit in Abuja, Nigeria.
The Chief Executive officer, Center for Media and Society, COMESO, Dr Akin Akingbulu made the presentation on behalf of broadcast media stakeholders.

The Director General, NBC, appreciated the efforts of the stakeholders and the Center for Media and Society, (COMESO), to produce the memorandum.
He disclosed that the NBC is proposing a media special court to adjudicate matters relating to media regulations and sanctions.

The Memorandum published last year was a product of a series of stakeholders engagements with the support of the EU Democratic Governance project in Nigeria.
It covers three areas of concern namely licensing, content regulation and broadcasting.

The memorandum seeks to advance and produce a conducive environment for the broadcasting industry in Nigeria, focusing on best practices and seem less regulatory framework.
