Mr. Olufunsho Adebiyi has taken over as Permanent Secretary for the Nigerian Ministry of Works from Yakubu Kofarmata.
During his acceptance speech at the ministry’s headquarters in Abuja, Mr. Adebiyi solicited unity and support from the staff of the ministry in order to deliver on his duties.
He noted that one of the challenges faced by the ministry is the allegation of lopsidedness in the geopolitical spread of projects and promised that the issues will be resolved.
“I want to appeal to all of us to ensure that we strive toward delivering on the mandate of Mr. President to provide critical road infrastructure, in line with the Renewed Hope Agenda.
“I want to assure you that I will do my best by the grace of God. The challenges are enormous before us, and I am sure that we will overcome them together,” he said.
Mr. Adebiyi further applauded the outgoing permanent secretary, stating that he left an excellent track record in office.
Mr. Adebiyi is being redeployed from the State House, while Kofarmata is reporting to the Office of the Head of the Civil Service of the Federation for further posting.
