NADCEL: GOC Calls For Prayers To Overcome Security Challenges

The General Officer Commanding (GOC), of 8 Division Nigerian Army Sokoto, and Commander Sector 2 North West Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Ibikunle Ajose, has urged Nigerians to continue to pray for the success of army personnel participating in various theatre of operations across the country.

Ibikunle Ajose made the call during a special Juma’at prayer organised by the division as part of 2025 Nigerian Army Day Celebrations ( NADCEL) on Friday in Sokoto.

He noted that the day was set aside to celebrate Nigerian Army achievements and review challenges in the year under review.

The GOC, who was represented by the Division Chief of Staff, Brigadier General Abubakar Suru, said Nigerian Army personnel exert selfless services at different operations to safeguard peoples lives and property as well as sovereignty of the nation.

He said the purposeful sacrifices are beyond the imagination of the people and needed intensified prayers for their successes in their various formations.

General Ajose urged personnel to remain dedicated, loyal, steadfast, and discipline towards ensuring professionalism while discharging their constitutional responsibilities.

He expressed hope that the Nigerian Army would continue to grow and contribute its quota to national development through the provision of peace and security in the country.

In his sermon, the Chief Imam 8 Division Islamic Affairs, Major Tanimu Hamisu, urged the gallant men not to be distracted as their service was Godly and full of reward.

He qoated several Qur’anic and Prophetic injunctions highlighting the importance of Nigerian Army defending the defenceless, and safeguarding the integrity of nation and its citizens.

The special Juma’at prayer was attended by senior military officers, Head of security agencies in Sokoto, state, government officials, and traditional rulers, among others.

The theme of this year’s commomeration is ‘Developing the Soldiers First Concept: Imperative for Nigerian Army Transformation Drive.’
