Nasarawa Government promises to clear outstanding LG staff salary

Nasarawa State Governor Abdullahi Sule has promised to clear all the outstanding local government staff salaries in the state.

Sule disclosed this when he paid homage to the Emir of Nasarawa, Alhaji Ibrahim Jibril.

He said that clearing the local government staff salary would also improve the standard of living of the local government staff and promote peace in their various councils.

The governor said that the visit was part of activities to mark his second year in office as well as to thank and hear from the people on his government’s performance.

“I am here to thank you, to hear from you, how my government is doing, and seek your advice to exceed all expectations,” he said.

“I was hearing people complaining of lack of payment of local government staff salaries.

“I know that some local governments owed to staff for two months.

“By God’s grace, soon the state government will clear the salary owed by the local government councils, “  Sule noted

Governor Sule appealed to the people to be patient over the salaries owed by the third tier of government, adding that his government is doing its best in improving the welfare of civil servants.

Also speaking, the Emir of Nasarawa appreciated Gov. Sule for his efforts in developing the state.

He also commended the governor for his developmental strides in the area of security, education, health, road construction, water among others aimed at touching the lives of the people of the area and state at large positively.

The emir has urged the governor not to relent in his efforts to better the standard of living of the people of the state

The first-class traditional ruler called on his subjects to support Gov Sule’s administration to succeed.

Meanwhile, the Executive Chairman, Nasarawa Local Government Council, Sani Otto, appreciated the governor for the tour towards hearing from the people.

He also commended  Gov. Sule for his developmental strides in almost all sectors of the economy.
