The Nigerian National Assembly has postponed its Resumption of Plenary Session ealier scheduled for Tuesday, February 24, 2026 to enable Committees conclude ongoing defence of the 2026 Budget By Ministries, Departments and Agencies, MDAs.
In a notice issued to Senators and Members of the House of Representatives, the Clerk to the National Assembly, Mr Kamoru Ogunlana, says the postponement would allow various Committees of the Assembly to conclude ongoing budget defence sessions.
“This postponement is to enable Committees of the Assembly to conclude ongoing budget defence sessions,” the statement said.
According to the statement, plenary will now reconvene in both chambers on Thursday, March 5th at 11:00 a.m.
Members of both the Senate and the House of Representatives have been urged to take note of the new date and time for resumption.
The leadership of the Assembly expressed regret for any inconvenience the postponement may have caused.
