NATCOM And Immigration To Partner Against Illegal Fire Arms

The National Commission for the Coordination and Control of Proliferation of Small Arms and Light Weapons, NATCOM, has pledged to partner with the Nigerian Immigration Service, NIS, to check and prevent all kind of illegal fire Arms in the country.

The Acting Director General of NATCOM, Mr. Adejare Adegbenro disclosed the partnership when he led top management team of the agency on a congratulatory visit to the Acting Comptroller, Nigerian Immigration Service in her office.

The NATCOM boss also used the opportunity to commend President Bola Tinubu for the appointment of Carol Wura-Ola, describing her as a very hardworking woman with the capacity and experience to lead the service.

Speaking on his Agency’s mandates, NATCOM boss expressed optimism to form a formidable working relationship with the service, stressing that “with strong partnership and collaboration, illegal arms proliferation will soon become history in the country.”

He also described the Nigeria Immigration Service as a strategic partner in the fight against illegal arms and weapons in Nigeria.

Mr. Adegbenro decried the negative effects of illegal arms in the country and called for supports to enable him succeed.

Responding, the Acting Comptroller General of the Nigeria Immigration Service, Mrs Carol Wura-Olu commended the leadership of NATCOM for their timely visit promising to ensure that the two agencies work together for the betterment of Nigeria and its citizens.

In another development, top management team of NATCOM lead by Mr. Adegbenro also paid a courtesy visit to the former governor of Ogun State who is now a Senator, Gbenga Daniel in his Abuja House.
