The National Library of Nigeria, Nasarawa State branch, Northcentral Nigeria, has appealed for support from stakeholders to enable it to achieve optimal service delivery.
Head of the National Library of Nigeria, Nasarawa State branch, Mrs Angela Edoo Aanya, stated this during an interview with Journalists in Lafia, the state capital.
The Nasarawa State branch of the National Library was established over a decade ago to provide residents with access to books, research materials, and other intellectual services.
Mrs Anya appealed to the Nasarawa State Government and other stakeholders to take ownership of the facility by providing basic infrastructure to make the library more functional.
She also urged parents and guardians to encourage young people to embrace the library as a reliable and traditional source of information, rather than relying solely on the internet.
“I have noticed that the people in the Nasarawa State branch don’t write.
I have not seen publishers coming here to apply for ISBN, ISSN, CIP, that is, logging in publication barcode”.
