NDE Empowers 138 Niger State Residents in Four Agric Schemes

To support the Federal Government’s efforts to boost food production and ensure self-sufficiency in food production in the country, the National Directorate of Employment (NDE) in Niger State has empowered 138 people in four agricultural schemes.

This was revealed by the state’s NDE Coordinator, Abdul Malik Abubakar, during the distribution of start-up cash to beneficiaries in Minna.

He stated that each beneficiary received N100,000 to begin any agricultural venture of their choosing to become self-reliant.

According to Abubakar, the programme was one of the directorate’s contributions to the food sufficiency drive of the current administration.
Meanwhile, he advised the beneficiaries to put the money to good use for the purpose it was meant, and contribute to food security in the state and Nigeria at large.
