The National Directorate of Employment (NDE) has announced plans to train and empower over 21,000 unskilled and unemployed Nigerians under a nationwide initiative set to run from July to August 2025.

The NDE State Coordinator in Ebonyi, Mrs Chukwuekezie Stella, disclosed this to journalists at the State Office, Unity Square Secretariat, Abakaliki.

She said the Renewed Hope Employment Initiative of the Directorate aligns with the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu’s administration and will provide vocational, agricultural, digital, and entrepreneurial skill training, including activities in public works sectors.

Mrs Chukwuekezie noted that registration began on Monday, 28 July, and will close on 11 August 2025. She added that the training is free for all qualified applicants aged 18 to 40.

She emphasised that registration is strictly online as the Directorate has gone fully digital.

The NDE State Coordinator, therefore called on stakeholders in Ebonyi State to mobilise and encourage young people to take advantage of the federal government’s opportunity through the NDE.

“We enjoin all interested persons to log on to www.nderegistrationportal.ng and register. The NDE remains committed to drastically reducing the vices orchestrated by unemployment by not only training jobless youths but also empowering them to become self-employed and employers of labour,” she said.
