The chairman of the Nigeria Pillar Of Sports, Donatus Ejidike, hailed Nigeria’s First Lady Dr Aisha Buhari for using her exalted office to promote women sports in Nigeria.

Ejidike noted that the Invitational tournament themed: “Playing For Good” is better staged at this crucial period when the world is facing security challenges.
“What interests me is seeing political office holders and patriotic Nigerians using their offices to promote unity, and bring youths together in a maner to shape their lives and give them hope,” Ejidike said.
“This particular international tournament by the office of Her Excellency, the First Lady, Dr Aisha Buhari focuses hope that windows of opportunities can be opened for them in the round leather game.”
“I thumb-up Nigeria First Lady, Dr Aisha Buhari who approved the tournament and gave support to the Nigerian Football Federation (NFF), as manifested in the likes of Seyi Akinwumi and Aisha Falode who are Chairman, Local Organising Committee, and member respectively aside from other stakeholders,” Ejidike added.
The sports philanthropist appealed to wives of state governors to emulate Dr Aisha Buhari by staging one form of female competition in order to unearth budding talents
The Aisha Buhari International Women’s Football Tournament is scheduled to hold between September 13 and 21, 2021 in Lagos
In group A, the Super Falcons of Nigeria will battle against Morocco and Mail.
