As part of the activities commemorating the 2025 Nigerian Army Day Celebration (NADCEL), the Headquarters of the 8th Division, Nigerian Army, organised a one-day free medical outreach for the Balle community in the Gudu Local Government Area of Sokoto State.

The outreach is aimed at improving healthcare delivery in communities affected by insurgency, as well as strengthening civil-military relations within the Division and Sector 2 Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Area of Responsibility (AOR).

In his remarks, the General Officer Commanding (GOC) 8 Division and Commander, Sector 2 Joint Task Force North West, Operation FANSAN YAMMA, Major General Ibikunle Ajose, said the medical outreach is one of several community-focused activities being undertaken as part of this year’s NADCEL celebrations.

Represented by the commander of the Defense Headquarters Special Operations, Colonel Mohammed Umar, the GOC noted that the exercise offered free medical consultations, treatments, and distribution of essential medicines to women, children, and the elderly.

He reaffirmed the commitment of the Nigerian Army to securing lives and property and called on members of the community to continue supporting the military and other security agencies to ensure lasting peace in the region.

Responding on behalf of the community, the District Head of Balle, Alhaji Abdulrahman Usman, expressed appreciation for the initiative, describing it as both timely and impactful.

He commended the Nigerian Army for its dedication to supporting host communities while fulfilling its constitutional mandate and offered prayers for divine guidance and protection for all security agencies working for peace and unity across the nation.
