Nigerian Delegation in Washington for IMF, World Bank Spring Meetings
The Nigerian Minister of Finance, Budget & National Planning, Mrs Zainab Shamsuna Ahmed with a delegation of financial experts have arrived in Washington DC, US, for the 2023 IMF WorldBank Spring Meetings.
Mrs Shamsuna attended a High-Level Working Group meeting on Global Financial Architecture with African Ministers of Finance, Planning and Economic Development.
An open discussion was also held on “An IMF for the 21st century – Lending, Governance and Future Direction”.
The Nigerian delegation will attend other activities lined up for the week-long event including; discussions on innovative solutions to climate change, global trade, big Data among others.
The Spring Meetings of the Boards of Governors of the World Bank Group (WBG) and the International Monetary Fund (IMF), bring together central bankers, ministers of finance and development, parliamentarians, private sector executives, representatives from civil society organisations and academics to discuss issues of global concern.
They include; the world economic outlook, poverty eradication, economic development, and aid effectiveness.
Also featured are seminars, regional briefings, press conferences, and many other events focused on the global economy, international development, and the world’s financial system.
The IMF/World Bank Spring Summit holds from April 10-16, 2023 in Washington DC.
