Over 250 facilitators under the Federal Government’s Conditional Cash Transfer (CCT) Programme in Adamawa State have participated in a one-day training session held in Yola, the state capital.
The Conditional Cash Transfer Programme is a nationwide initiative aimed at improving the livelihoods of the poor and vulnerable populations across Nigeria.
Speaking during the event, the Adamawa State Coordinator of the programme, Mrs. Mary Yowadi, said the training was organized to sensitize communities across all 21 Local Government Areas of the state on a new initiative that would ease access to their financial benefits.
Mrs. Yowadi explained that since the inception of the programme in 2016, beneficiaries had been receiving ₦5,000 each.
However, under the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, the amount was increased to ₦75,000 starting last year.
She emphasized that the programme is specifically targeted at the poor and vulnerable groups in the society, including women and youths across rural communities.
Mrs. Yowadi also expressed gratitude to the Adamawa State Government for providing a conducive environment and necessary office space to ensure the smooth implementation of the programme.
Participants at the training expressed appreciation to the Federal Government, noting that the session was timely—especially as the payment process transitions from manual (table) payments to a more efficient digital system.
The training marks a significant step in ensuring transparency, inclusivity, and ease of access to government social intervention programs.
