The National Coordinator of the association, Mrs. Ajala Angela made the call during the ongoing ANWBN 2023 Summit and 10th anniversary celebrations in Abuja with the theme, “Decade of celebration, work together, walk far.”

ANWBN is a premier coalition of 75 associations and is still growing with a membership spread of about four million women in Nigeria. Ten years ago, when we embarked on this journey of unity, empowerment, and advocacy we could only dream of the incredible impact we would have collectively. Today, as we celebrate a decade of progress, passion, and purpose, we look back with a profound appreciation for how far we have come together, ” she said.

Mrs. Ajala noted that the association is more than just an alliance of associations but a testament to the strength, resilience, and unwavering commitment of women who have dedicated their lives to shaping a brighter, more equitable future.

Today, as we celebrate our past, present, and ongoing achievements, we look ahead with hope and determination. Our journey is far from over as we shall be launching six major initiatives that will shape our journey into the future. There are still challenges to be faced, barriers to be broken and dreams to be realized. But in our unity, we find the strength to overcome every obstacle, the wisdom to navigate every path, and the heart to inspire meaningful change.” she further stated.

While speaking, the Secretary of the board of trustees of the association, Mrs. Saudatu Mahdi emphasized that the creation of a conducive business environment is imperative for fostering the success and growth of women-owned businesses within the country.

We need to see these businesses thrive. You don’t need billionaire capital for a woman entrepreneur to thrive if the ecosystem of production, consumption, and competition are correct,” she stated.

Also speaking, the FCT zonal coordinator of the association, Mrs. Moji Makanjuola said the ANWBN platform is a means for women to come together to network, build capacity, and grow the country’s economy.

There hasn’t been a challenge in bringing women together. Women voluntarily saw the need to have a network where they can boost their various businesses under one umbrella using it as a platform to reach out to the world,” She stated.
