The Armed Forces of Nigeria has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment, resilience, and readiness to uphold its constitutional mandate of protecting the nation’s territorial integrity and ensuring internal security across the country.

The Director, Defence Media Operations, Major General Markus Kangye, stated this during the weekly briefing on ongoing military operations across the country held in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.

Major General Kangye commended the gallant officers and men of the Armed Forces for their courage and dedication in confronting evolving security threats.

He noted that their sustained efforts continue to yield positive outcomes in various operational theatres nationwide.

“Our recent operational successes whether in counter-terrorism, anti-banditry, maritime security, or joint internal operations are not just victories on the battlefield, but clear demonstrations of our resolve to secure every inch of our nation,” Kangye said.

He attributed these achievements to coordinated efforts, intelligence-driven strategies, and the support of patriotic Nigerians, while acknowledging the sacrifices made by personnel who have paid the ultimate price or continue to serve with honour and distinction.

According to him, “the continued dedication, discipline, and professionalism of the troops have been instrumental in maintaining momentum across all operational theatres.”

He emphasised that their successes reflect effective strategic planning and the bravery of personnel on land, in the air, and at sea.

The Director further highlighted that recent counterterrorism operations, peacekeeping engagements, and joint exercises with international partners underscore Nigeria’s commitment to national security, regional stability, and global cooperation.

He stressed that these accomplishments reinforce the credibility and capability of the Armed Forces.

Overall, troops have recovered large quantities of assorted arms and ammunition, including automatic weapons, rocket-propelled grenade tubes, machine guns, locally fabricated firearms, and materials for improvised explosive devices.

Also, some cache of live cartridges and assorted ammunition were discovered.

Kangye reaffirmed that while some challenges persist, the Armed Forces remain focused, vigilant, and mission-ready to ensure lasting peace and stability across all regions of the country.
